How can you improve your argumentative essays?
Here's a little secret—the best way to learn how to have good arguments is to spend time analyzing the arguments of others.
You may think that an argumentative essay is about convincing your reader that you're right and your opponent is wrong, but if it was so simple, there would be no need for such a thing as an introductory paragraph.
A good argumentative essay attempts to persuade its audience to accept the writer's point of view on a specific topic—it does not attempt to convince them that the other side is wrong. Good arguments start by taking into account other points of view and acknowledging their validity. By doing this, you allow yourself room to make valid points while also allowing your opponent room to make valid points.
This doesn't mean that you have to agree with the other side’s conclusions.
